At home with a concierge - living with WOBA

The WOBA DRESDEN apartment building at the corner of St. Petersburger Strasse and Pillnitzer Strasse is receiving the name "Carolinum" as part of its modernization. The new name is an allusion to the neighboring Carola Bridge and will give the building its own identity as well as accent the new quality of residential life there.

WOBA DRESDEN is investing over nine million euros in the modernization of the Carolinum. The last of the work will be finished by the end of May. Around 160 of the mainly 1- und 1 ½-room apartments already have new bathrooms, new floors, and new front doors. In addition, a new main entrance opens up the building to Petersburger Strasse.

After positive experiences in Strasbourg, a concierge service will also be established in the Carolinum. From Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 8:00pm, and on Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, tenants can use the service to purchase newspapers, hand over their laundry, or buy rolls, for example.

Overall, WOBA DRESDEN will be spending some 70 million euros this year for modernization and renovations. "The Carolinum is one of the prominent projects scheduled. Its excellent, central location, the high quality of the housing, and our concierge service make living at this location especially appealing. The immediate vicinity includes not only the historic old town but also the pub district, Neustadt," explains Rainer Seifert, Managing Director for WOBA DRESDEN. "In addition, getting to the university is quick and convenient thanks to the area's optimal transportation infrastructure."

The 58 x 1-room, 363 x 1.5-room, and 8 x 3-room apartments are being leased out starting immediately. Those interested can get information at the Rental Office (Pillnitzer Strasse 4, ground floor to the left) on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 11:00am and Thursdays from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, at the Customer Service Center located in Altstadt at An der Kreuzkirche 6 (Monday - Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm), or over the phone by calling 2588-888 in Dresden.
