GBH promotes social projects in Heidenheim

GBH will be sponsoring social institutions in Heidenheim with more than € 75,000 this year.  "As a housing company we feel particularly called upon when it comes to social commitment," explains Jörg Deisel, Chairman of the Board of GBH AG.  "We take on social responsibility vis-à-vis our customers and the community."

At the end of June GBH supported local sports activities and the cultural community with a total of more than €70,000.  "These activities demonstrate our local commitment to Heidenheim. GBH will expand its social activities and increasingly promote selected social projects in Heidenheim," announced Deisel.  "This is one of our contributions to the social development within the neighborhoods and to the coexistence of all citizens of Heidenheim."

"I am very happy about GBH's enormous support for the social projects in Heidenheim. GBH has fully kept its promise of supporting institutions in Heidenheim with € 150,000 annually," explains Bernhard Ilg, Lord Mayor of Heidenheim.  "GBH is promoting the social activities that form an integral part of our local policy here in Heidenheim."

GBH donated € 28,000 towards a social worker position at the mobile youth support team Pro Youth.  Another € 28,000 were donated towards a social worker position at a local debt counseling institution.  GBH will also donate € 11,000 to the new institution "Prevention" that was set up by the city to support families with problems relating to education, school, and language.  Another € 8,000 will go the community center "Altes Eichamt" and other social projects.

The majority of shares in GBH are held by the GAGFAH GROUP.  Jörg Deisel explains, "taking on social responsibility is part of our business model."  The tenant pro-tection clauses that we have granted in our social charters have become the national benchmark. The GAGFAH Foundation Mensch und Wohnen (People and Living) promotes the coexistence of younger and older generations in our dwellings."
